SAINTE-CROIX NEWSPAPER 2008 - EXHIBITION AT YLLONK'ART GALLERY - Switzerland
At the Yllonk’Art gallery, Valérie Ziehli exhibits her lovely interior world, until May 10.
The opening took place on Friday, April 18. Ms. Yllonka Fluri [...] is happy to introduce [...] Valérie Ziehli for her first individual exhibition. Valérie Ziehli, who trained as a pediatric psychiatrist, is the mother of 3 young adults. [...] Spirituality and psyche appear subtly in her artwork. On the white canvas, she places the colors in the background. Green and orange, wine and water green, gray and red, ocher and royal blue, the tones oppose each other, call to one another. Then, she incorporates elements gleaned from her walks: a piece of wood, jute, cardboard, a stone, tiles, twine, a piece of paper; glued and painted they give the painting structure and relief. Cracks, writing, gilding, become multiple symbols... Paintings which, when approached, reveal details such as silhouettes, delicate faces. C. Rümbeli
